Government bypasses Council planners

The Government has 'designated' Uttlesford District Council under s62A of the Planning Act as they see the Council as 'not adequately performing their function of determining applications'. This means developers can now make major applications direct to Planning Inspectorate, missing out the Council planning department altogether
